Pam Cackler of Parrotheads of Eastern WA here. I would greatly appreciate it if you would make your members aware of our event this summer in Eastern Washington. Although the event is not until August, folks need to get hotel reservations NOW because of three concerts at the Gorge that weekend. Hopefully, you can just forward this e-mail out to your members. What: The Crescent Bar Crawl!!

Date: Saturday and Sunday, August 20-21

Time: Music will be Saturday 4PM till Midnight, Sunday noon till 6, but you are welcome to enjoy the resort all day!

Location: Crescent Bar Resort, (about 25 miles east of Wenatchee on Hwy 28)

Tickets: $45 for both nights, includes dinner on Saturday night. Saturday only: $30 (includes dinner) Sunday only: $20 Tickets will go on sale May 16.

And all proceeds will benefit Wenatchee Valley Humane Society!

Entertainment for this event will be provided by our own Scott Bryan and Mark Iler, and, from Myrtle Beach SC, "Latitude"! The event will be emceed by two of Radio Margaritaville's DJ's, Brian Lewis and Tuff Bailey, who will also be recording the event for later broadcast on Radio Margaritaville! Jeff and I have seen Latitude perform multiple times and they are a GREAT party band--they get everyone on their feet. This will be their first time out west, and they are guaranteed to give us a great show. Oh, and PS, no it won't be repetitious, they have a repertoire of over 500 songs…….! There will also be a silent auction and a few other surprises.

Crescent Bar is a small, full-service resort with bars, restaurants, shops, golf, tennis, water sports (yes, there are jet ski rentals) and beaches on the Columbia River. It is a 25 minute drive from Wenatchee on a good 60MPH highway with no traffic.

NOW FOR THE REALLY IMPORTANT PART!!! If you even think you might come, you need to book your lodging NOW. The Dave Matthews Band will be performing 3 shows that same weekend at the Gorge. All hotels in Quincy (which is closer to the Gorge and Crescent Bar than Wenatchee) are already sold out. Hotels in Wenatchee WILL sell out as well. Remember, you can book a room now and cancel later if the need arises, and still get a full refund. But if you wait, you will not find a room, and my backyard will only hold about 3 tents!

Here are some suggestions for accommodations:

The Cedars Inn, East Wenatchee doubles $71.00 phone 509-886-8000 (this is the closest available hotel to Crescent Bar--it is right on Hwy 28 on the east end of town)

La Quinta Inn, Wenatchee two queen beds $73.70 phone 509-664-6565 (this hotel is at the north end of Wenatchee. You will cross the river to access the highway to Crescent Bar)

Travelodge, Wenatchee double rate $88.40, quad rate $99.66 phone 509-662-8165 (this hotel is in the center of Wenatchee, again across the river)

RV owners: You can try for a space in Confluence Park at the north end of Wenatchee, or there is an RV park in Quincy, just 7 miles from Crescent Bar:

The Country Cabin RV Park, 509-787-3515. There is also a Leisure Time Resorts RV Park right at Crescent Bar, if you are a member.

This will be an outdoor concert in a beautiful setting at the base of the huge basalt cliffs on the Columbia River. C'mon over--it's guaranteed to be warm and sunny! Tickets for the event itself will go on sale May 16. But in the mean time--GET YOUR HOTEL BOOKED!!!
