BUFFETT IN PORTLAND - Hey Phloks...
I heard from the Key NorthWest Parrot Heads in Portland last week informing
me JB will be playing at the Rose Garden Arena in Portland on Thursday
October 27th. It has just been posted on the Margaritaville website stating
tickets go on sale to the general public this weekend - Saturday September
16th at 9:00.
The Key NorthWest Parrot Heads asked me yesterday if our club would like
any "club seats" which are distributed to PH Clubs in the vicinity
of concerts. If interested, please contact me immediately! I am not sure
what the cost would be yet nor do I know where the seats are located?
We all have been invited to the pre-party the club is hosting and I will
forward the details when received. Additionally, all info will be posted
on this website.

BUFFETT ON SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO
Sirius, XM and a Canadian satellite radio company has just been given
licenses by the Canadian government to start broadcasting. The estimated
timetable for broadcasting is by the end of the year. Rumor has it that
the Canadian government is going to require Sirius and XM to include the
10% of channels to include Canadian programing to send a signal to Canadians.
You can now tune in to Jimmy Buffett and Radio Margaritaville on Sirius
Satellite Radio in the U.S. Radio Margaritaville is one of the newest
(Sirius) 24-hour channels, featuring a wide variety of music, live broadcasts
of Buffetts concerts, and other unique programs. Sirius is a non
edited, sensor free network of Sports, Music, News, and Talk/Entertainment
radio programming. Tune into Radio Margaritaville on channel 98 or go
to www.sirius.com
for more information.
Radio Margaritaville will continue to broadcast every concert on this
summer's "Salty Piece Of Land" tour, live over the net
at www.radiomargaritaville.com.
Check out the tour schedule and log on for an evening of live concert
phun.

BUFFETT IN LAS VEGAS
Two dates were released for concerts at the Garden Arena at the MGM Grand
in Las Vegas. Tickets went on sale Monday (6/20) for Saturday October
22nd, and October 29th. There are no top priced tickets for the October
22nd date but great seats are still available for October 29th.
I called the MGM Box Office directly (on 6/22), and got awesome seats
...close to the best I have ever had at the Garden Arena. Booking directly
with the MGM Box Office saves the TicketMaster service charge. The drawback
is they will not mail the tickets, you must pick up at "Will Call"
and provide the credit card they were charged on. The TicketMaster phone
number is 604 280-4444 and the MGM Grand phone number is 1 877 880-0880.

BUFFETT SUITCASE PARTY - On Wednesday June 6th we co-hosted, with
the Shark Club and Corona, the Jimmy Buffett Suitcase Party. Unfortunately
we had a very poor turn out ...with no fault to the above parties. We
promoted the heck out of it with our Club Members and members from the
previous club. The Shark club advertised in the Georgia Straight Newspaper
as well as on all stations in the Chum Radio Group.
The winner of the trip to see Jimmy Buffett in Toronto was the niece of
our PHLOC member Scott Keddy. Alberta Mayne reported she had a awesome
time in Toronto and she is now a Parrot Head. Congratulations Alberta,
we hope you will join our PHLOC soon!
We may have another such evening if Jimmy plays in the Pacific Northwest
this fall. We have urged Corona to host such an Event on a Thursday or
Friday night, and asked for the Ticket draw to be made earlier in the
evening. Lets keep our fingers crossed!
Sorry no pictures available as it was too dark.
EDGE
TO EDGE MARATHON - WE DID IT! - The fifth annual Edge To Edge
Marathon from Tofino to Ucluelet was held on June 12th. Our Island PHLOC
members hosted the last water station on the race route near Uclulet.
Of course it was a festive colourful display of Buffett inspired characters.
The same group has won the award for "Best Water Station" since
the inception of the race five years ago ...until now. The Canadian Pacific
PHLOC took top honours for the "Best Water Station" in 2005.
Thank you, and Congratulations to all who participated!!
